
Schoology
What is Schoology?
Schoology (pronounced: Skool’uh-jee) is our first ever learning management system in Tomball ISD which offers a platform for organization, collaboration, communication, discussion boards, multimedia lessons, as well as a place to submit assignments and allows for easy teacher feedback/grading. Schoology has a simplified navigation and a similar layout to social media. It is also iPad compatible and fully integrates with Google Apps for Education. Students have been provided instructions on how to gain access to their Courses by logging into ClassLink, and will spend the first week of school learning how to navigate Schoology with teacher assistance.
Student Access
Students have a single point of entry through ClassLink. They should never need to enter a separate Schoology login.
- Go to the TISD ClassLink Portal
- Log in using the student's District Credentials.
- Click the Schoology icon (blue 'S' icon). It opens automatically!
- Trouble logging in? Please ensure the student is logged out of all personal Google accounts.
Student Navigation
- Courses: The first tab, showing tiles for all enrolled courses.
- Materials: Inside each course, content is typically organized by folder
- To Do: List of materials and assignments that overdue or due soon.
- Upcoming Events: The right sidebar lists upcoming dates for events posted by teachers.

Parent Account Creation
You need the unique 12-digit Parent Access Code for your student, found on the main page of the Home Access Center. If you cannot locate it, please contact the main school office. *It is recommended to create your account on the website and not the app.
- Visit the Parent Sign Up Page:
- Enter the 12-digit code, then fill out your name, email, and password.
Link Multiple Students:
- Once logged in, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner, then select Add Child.
- A box will pop up asking for the code for the additional student (Remember the 12 digit code is found in Home Access Center).
Parent Access
- Login to Schoology using your username or email address and password
- Click the arrow next to your name in the top-right corner
- Click on your child's name. This will allow you to view the platform from your child's perspective. The checkmark indicates what user you are viewing.
Key Parent Warnings
If you have multiple children linked, click the down arrow next to your name in the upper right corner to switch student accounts quickly.
Parent Reminders
As a parent, you cannot submit assignments, take quizzes, or comment on student-only discussion threads while viewing student courses. Your account is for viewing and monitoring only.

Remember to enable Push Notifications within the app settings for reminders.
✉️Notifications & Alerts
Control what you receive and when:
- Set a daily/weekly digest for all activity.
- Choose instant alerts for missing assignments.
- Manage notifications under Settings > Notifications inside Schoology.

🌎Language Settings
Change the interface to your preferred language:
- On your Schoology homepage, scroll to the bottom.
- Click English
- Select your preferred language from the available list.
- Click Save to complete the process.
