DZC Woodlands 2022
In a Fast Growth District, monitoring the campus enrollment and capacity usage are of utmost importance to properly managing localized and overall growth. According to Zonda Education’s (formerly Templeton Demographics) Fall 2021 report for Tomball ISD, the district has grown by 8.5% compared to the 2020-2021 school year.
In an effort to create a plan to provide a more immediate solution to the capacity issues at Creekview, District staff and demographers have been creating and reviewing possibilities for new attendance boundaries for the three Woodlands elementary campuses. Two plans are currently under consideration:
Plan A was presented in a community meeting held on March 10th at Creekside Park Junior High. The feedback from the community meetings was primarily concerned with the safety for students walking or biking to school who would, under the new plan, have to cross Kuykendahl.
Plan B was officially created after reviewing community feedback. This plan proposes to rezone students currently zoned to Creekview, who live too far away to walk or bike to school, to Timber Creek. This option would not provide as much relief for Creekview and could create potential multiple rezonings for some neighborhoods within a short period of time.
