Aquatic Center South located at Tomball Memorial High School

1. It is a natatorium designed to provide the students at TISD a dedicated practice and training facility for competition swimming, diving and water polo.
2. The water surface area provides 8 competition lanes. The lanes can be adjusted via a movable bulkhead to accommodate either a 25YD or 25M course as well as having the flexibility to configure a cross course to provide for 15 lanes.
3. “Stretch pool design” provides dedicated water surface for competitive swimming or water polo and simultaneously accommodates competitive diving utilizing multiple dive platforms varying from 1M spring boards to a 3M dive platform. [dedicated diving area is an upgrade to your average natatorium]
4. The diving equipment includes an overhead harness system (above both the pool and deck) that can be used to assist and protect divers during training sessions.
5. The competition swimming courses feature custom starting platforms and backstroke flags that feature the school’s logo and name.
6. The locker rooms are designed to accommodate 100 athletes with 50 lockers in each of the boys and girls' locker rooms.
7. Spectator seating is designed to accommodate 250 guests.
8. The air quality in the pool area is improved through the use of an integrated patented system by Paddock Pool Equipment which is designed to remove the chlorine fumes at the water surface. A UV secondary disinfectant system is also provided as part of the pool recirculation system to destroy corrosive chloramines responsible for the “chlorine air” commonly noticed in natatoriums.
9. The technology for the natatorium includes a 176”x100” scoreboard, integrated electronic scoring and timing system and the sound quality within the pool area is enhanced through the use of an acoustical ceiling decking material. The competition pool also features eight (8) underwater speakers that can be used for coaching instruction or music during training sessions. [only a handful of high school facilities in the country have this equipment].
10. Led lighting was used throughout the building including utilizing a  special truss mounted indirect lighting system for the pool area.
11. Perimeter translucent paneling reduces lighting usage during the day and lets in a soft natural light without producing glare on the water surface like typical windows.
12. The pool recirculation system includes a dry acid pH buffer system that helps to reduce operator hazard when handling pool chemicals.
13. Primary pool mechanical systems can be monitored and controlled remotely to decrease operator response time, should an issue arise.
