School Trustee Election

Information for Candidates for School Trustee

 

Date of Election

Tuesday, November 3, 2020


 
To be eligible to run for the position of trustee of the Tomball Independent School District, the candidate must be
 
1. A United States citizen
2. Eighteen (18) years or older at the start date of the term of service
3. A registered voter in the territory elected from by the filing deadline.
4. A resident of the district for six (6) months before August 17, 2020 and
5. A resident of the state for twelve (12) months before August 17, 2020.
 
The candidate must retain these qualifications while in office. The interested person must file a request to have his/her name placed on the ballot with the Executive Assistant of the School Board no later than the seventy-eight (78th) day prior to the election (August 17). These forms will be available on the Tomball ISD website. The Tomball ISD Administration Building is closed until further notice due to COVID-19 please email ritabeisert@tomballisd.net to setup an appointment to bring your completed Application for a Place on the General Election Ballot and Appointment of a Campaign Treasurer to the Administration Building, 310 S. Cherry St, Tomball, Texas 77375. The applications can be mailed to the attention of Rita Beisert at Tomball ISD, 310 S. Cherry St, Tomball, Texas 77375 or fax them to her attention at 281.357.3128. No email applications will be accepted. Date to begin accepting filing applications is Monday, July 20, 2020. The filing deadline is 5:00 PM, Monday, August 17, 2020.
 
Position No. 5.    Four-year term (Full Term)     Presently held by Matt Schiel
Position No. 6.    Four-year term (Full Term)     Presently held by Justin Unser
Position No. 7.    Four-year term (Full Term)     Presently held by Lee McLeod
 
Persons must run for a specific position. Ballot position will be drawn on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at 5:00 PM at the Tomball ISD Administration Building, Board Room, 310 S. Cherry Street, Tomball. If you are not present at the time of the drawing a ballot position will be drawn for you.

School Board Elections

Tomball ISD will hold a School Board Trustee Election on November 3, 2020. The polling locations for the election have not been established at this time.

All Board Trustee positions are At-Large positions and serve four-year terms (full-term).  Trustee Positions 5, 6, and 7 will be up for election on November 3, 2020:
