Change of Learning Environment
November 13, 2020
In Tomball ISD, we are steadfast in our commitment to provide quality instruction whether in a face-to-face environment or in a virtual setting.
As promised, your family will have the opportunity to make a change to your child(ren)’s current learning environment (F2F/TVS) for the second grading period, which begins on January 6, 2021 and runs through March 12, 2021.
As a reminder, beginning Monday, November 30, ALL families in Tomball ISD will have the option to make a change to their learning environment. This process will take place from Nov. 30 through Dec. 9. During that 10-day window, families will log in to Home Access Center (HAC) to make any necessary changes.
Please note: This process only applies to those families that want to make a change to their current instructional environment either in person (face-to-face) or virtual. If families want their child to continue in the environment they attended for the first grading period, you will not need to take further action.
If families choose to make a change, they must make the change for each child through the Home Access Center.
The Home Access Center will open on Monday, November 30 at 12:00 a.m. for parents to select a change of environment and will remain open through Wednesday, December 9, at 11:59 p.m. This will allow the campus time to reassign students to classrooms and teachers to prepare instruction for the second grading period, which begins on January 6, 2021.
Please be aware that the change of environment may require a change in your child’s schedule or teacher. In addition, there may be situations in our Tomball Virtual School or face to face environment where students will change teachers even if they did not make a change from the previous grading period. Due to staffing needs, students’ schedules and/or teachers may be impacted even if their learning environment does not change. We hope to make this transition timely and as seamless as possible to maintain high-quality instruction while meeting the needs of our families’ requests.
We want to reiterate to all families that December 9, 2020, will be the last day to request a change of environment through December.
