I was not born in Tomball, but I got here as quick as I could! My family and I have lived in the area for over 15 years. My wife Angel and I have three children Christian, Elle and Ava. I am a proud alumnus of Texas A&M-Kingsville University and serve the #JavNation as much as possible. I enjoy education because it is complex, social and there is a new beginning every school year. In my career, I have served as a teacher, diagnostician, Region 4 Education Service Center consultant, Adjunct Professor, Senior Manager and Director. As the Tomball ISD Assistant Superintendent of Student Support I work with an extraordinary team to build supports and programs for student in need of a little extra to level the playing the field. Our team believes in disABILITY, the right of parent voice in all processes, instruction should be designed with the margins in mind and curriculum access tools (CAT) should be universal to all students.
In Tomball ISD, we provide unmatched services to students and the community. We host over five Special Olympics Challenge Days, bi-annual respite events for families, Camp Angel and routine parent advisory meetings to help direct the department. We have a strong partnership with the Center for School Behavioral Health to provide mental health training to all of Team Tomball. In 2018, we launched the Restore, Instruct, Support and Educate (RISE) program for substance use assessment and intervention in collaboration with Teen and Family Services for any student in need of support in Tomball ISD. Our transition program for students with disabilities is at the top, bar none! In Tomball, we focus on instruction and assume compliance so the students most in need can reach the highest of expectations in school and in life!
