Not everyone gets to grow up and be what they dreamed about as a child, but I did. My entire life I wanted to be an educator and work with those who needed the most help. My mom says she can remember me teaching groups of dolls and stuffed animals as a toddler and my love of learning and teaching hasn't stopped since then.
After beginning my teaching career in 2004 as a special education teacher, I was drawn to kids with autism and started teaching in a self-contained behavior program for kids with autism. I learned about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) while teaching this program and in 2010 I graduated with my Masters degree and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in January 2011. Since becoming a BCBA, I've been drawn to supporting students who struggle with mental health and/or self-regulation and coping skills. Through continued education I've grown in my ability to support staff and students with a wide range of tools.

I joined the TISD family in August of 2019 and I can't think of a better place to be. I'm so glad to be part of a district that supports, encourages, and nurtures their staff and students. TISD cares about the whole child, not just the academics and this aligns with my personal philosophy. It's going to be a great year!

In my personal life I'm married to my high school sweetheart and we are raising two amazing little girls and have a clowder of cats.
