About Me

I am so excited to join Tomball ISD!  I am coming to Tomball with 18 years of experience in special education, some of it in Texas and some in Southern California.  However, I have never been so happy or proud to work somewhere as I am here in Tomball ISD. This year I will be serving Tomball Junior High School as their campus Educational Diagnostician.

To share a little about me, I was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, home of Steeler Nation and 6 Super Bowl rings.  If you haven’t guessed it already, I am a HUGE football fan. After graduating with my Undergraduate Degree from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, I moved to San Diego, California to be closer to my older brother.  In San Diego I earned my Master’s Degree in Special Education and met my husband.  Just before my husband and I got married, my brother, his wife and kids were relocated to Houston.  My husband and I wanted to be close to my family so we packed up and left sunny San Diego for the Houston heat and humidity!  LOL

Professionally, I have experience in several areas of special education.  I’ve taught students with emotional disturbances, Autism, and learning disabilities just to name a few.  I’ve taught at elementary, middle, and junior high, and I’ve worked in both inclusion settings as well as self-contained classrooms.  I am passionate about making sure that teachers, families and even the students understand how each disability impacts education in order to support student success.  I am extremely relationship driven.  I firmly believe that anything can be accomplished through dedication, respect and most of all, open and honest, communication.

My husband Mike and I do not have any children but my brother, his family and my mom all live within a mile of each other and we are so grateful for that.  Mike and I are in the “waiting” stage of adoption so we are hoping and praying that the baby that was meant to be ours will be here soon.  In the meantime, we have our family, which I’m so happy to say now includes my new Tomball family.

Sincerely,
