I was born and raised in Georgia, but have always had family in Texas so we visited a lot. I knew one day I would live in Texas. My husband and I love it here along with our two goldendoodles who are like our children. We are always on the go and love to travel.
I attended Appalachian State University in Boone,NC where I played softball and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. I then moved to the Forth Worth area and started out in an elementary self-contained special education classroom for children with autism and later moved to middle school to open a program for children with autism. I received my master's degree in special education from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in 2015 and then moved to the north Houston area and became a self-contained adaptive behavior teacher. After 8 years in the classroom, I decided I wanted to be able to do more! I am currently at the end of my coursework at Texas A&M to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and love/hate every moment of it. I'm so thankful to have moved to such a wonderful district like TISD where I can help support students and teachers all across the district with their behavior needs and look forward to a great year!
