COVID-19 Capacity Plans for Athletic Events - Tomball ISD

The following plans are in accordance with UIL Guidelines for COVID-19 Risk Mitigation and are subject to change based on local COVID-19 transmission data and updates from TEA and UIL.

As guidance is updated, we will continue to provide revisions to our rules and practices related to being in compliance. We thank you for your cooperation.

ALL ATHLETIC VENUE RULES
All employees, parents, visitors and students ten years of age or older must wear a mask or face covering upon entry to an area where UIL activities are being conducted and when not actively practicing or playing in the contest.
  • UIL guidelines state that schools may allow spectators to attend games, contests, or events within a maximum 50% capacity limitation, provided that appropriate spacing between spectators is maintained.
  • All venue concession stands will be limited to packaged items only with the exception of meals provided by catered vendors (ex. Chick-fil-A)
  • Football Gates open: 1 hour before kickoff
  • All other venues: Gates open 30 minutes prior to start time

FOOTBALL CAPACITY
TISD stadium has a total capacity of 7,455 seats.
  • Home: 4,588
    • Available seats: 2,295
  • Visitor: 2,867
    • Only 300 seats will be provided to the visiting team.
    • The tickets will be given to the opposing Athletic Director for their own process for distribution.
  • In order to accommodate 2,295 spectators on the home side, the band and drill team will sit in 3 of the 4 sections on the visitor’s side.
  • As a result, the visiting team’s band and drill teams will not be allowed to attend the game due to space restrictions.
  • This practice of limiting opposing bands and drill teams is becoming common to provide more socially distanced seating for home spectators.
  • TISD understands and accepts that we will be limited as visitors in opposing stadiums as well for safety and spacing strategies.

TICKET SALES
Ticket sales will move to a touchless system where tickets will be available online only to protect staff who sell tickets and our parents and community who interact with ticket sellers.

*** Games are in the process of being added into the new ticket system so please be patient as upcoming events will be added very soon for volleyball and football.

Online ticketing purchasing information is available on our district website at: https://www.tomballisd.net/apps/pages/administrative-services/athletics/tickets

  • The ticket vendor will adhere to our capacity limits for all athletic venues and sporting events.
  • All tickets will be general admission within specific sections.  No specific row and seat within the section will be designated.
  • There will be no season tickets sold this season.
  • Each section will be limited to 50% capacity.
  • Spectators can sit in any row that is open and must social distance themselves from the nearest spectator. Family units are allowed to sit together without consideration for social distancing.
