Dr. Caitlin Cain Named New Northpointe Intermediate Principal

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD has named Dr. Caitlin Cain the new Principal of Northpointe Intermediate, replacing long-time Principal Darrell McReynolds, who announced his retirement at the end of the school year.

Dr. Cain currently serves as Tomball ISD’s Director of Secondary ELA and Advanced Academics.

“I became interested in the Principal position at Northpointe Intermediate because it is an opportunity to work at a top-rated school with an amazing staff where they are passionate about learning and student success,” Dr. Cain said. “Northpointe is known for having a campus culture and climate that is welcoming and more of a family and I am so thankful for the opportunity to be a part of the family and learn about the Northpointe Way!”

She joined us from Magnolia ISD in 2020 where she had served in campus leadership roles, including Associate Principal and Assistant Principal. Along with many other administrator duties, she supervised and appraised the ELA department and oversaw the PLC process on campus at MHS.

Prior to becoming a campus administrator, she was a classroom teacher at the secondary level and assisted with the creation of curriculum. Along with her teaching duties, Dr. Cain also coached volleyball and soccer.

She graduated from Texas A&M University with a BA in Finance, earned her MA in Educational Leadership from Lamar University, and her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University.

What is it about education that you love so much?

“I am from a family of educators and truly feel like education is in my blood. I love education because it can make such an impact on the students and the people we work with by challenging each other to be better for our students and focusing on how our students can be successful in their learning. I love being able to see the students grow and the excitement they have when they learn something new. Having the opportunity to work with teachers who collaborate and challenge their students daily within the classroom is something I love to be a part of!”

What can the NIS school community expect of you as their leader?

“The NIS school community can expect me to provide positive support as the campus continues to strive towards academic excellence and provide opportunities for our students to be successful. As a campus, we will continue to grow in the PLC process and carry-on many of the amazing traditions that are already present on campus. I am there to serve the staff, students, and parents to continue the legacy Northpointe Intermediate has in Tomball ISD.”
