TOMBALL - Tomball ISD has named Deanna Porter its Elementary Principal of the Year for the 2020-2021 school year.
Porter is the Principal at Lakewood Elementary and is a Tomball ISD veteran with 26 years in education. She has served Tomball ISD in a variety of roles since 1993.
“Deanna exhibits commitment and ambition as the leader of Lakewood Elementary School,” Dr. Valerie Petrzelka, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools said. “She articulates the campus vision through clarity and values the strengths and talents of her staff. Mrs. Porter challenges her students with high expectations and encourages them to be their best. She displays integrity through her actions while building a culture of respect for Lakewood as a Great Expectations campus.”
During her career, she has been a Principal for 7 years at Lakewood, and was the assistant principal for 6 years prior. Along with leading a campus, Porter brings experience as a teacher and as an assistant principal at Tomball Elementary.
“I truly feel blessed to work with an amazing group of educators at Lakewood Elementary,” Porter said. “Without the hard work and dedication of every staff member, this recognition would not be possible. At Lakewood, we strive to create a collaborative atmosphere, where we are not just colleagues; we are family members. We all work together to support each student and cheer them on to success.”
Mrs. Porter is extremely honored and humbled to be distinguished by her peers as the Elementary Principal of the Year for Tomball ISD.
