Tomball ISD’s Director of Finance Zack Boles Promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Finance

TOMBALL - Zack Boles, Tomball ISD’s Director of Finance, was recently promoted to Assistant Superintendent of Finance.

Boles has served Tomball ISD for 10 years in several different roles within the Finance department. 

In this role as Assistant Superintendent of Finance, he will maintain his current responsibilities overseeing the Tax Office, Payroll, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Accounting departments while continuing to assist Chief Financial Officer Jim Ross. He will also continue to prepare the District’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, ensure compliance with all purchasing, payroll and accounting laws and regulations, while also preparing financial information for all bond sales and assisting with rating agency reviews.

Boles began in Tomball ISD back in September 2010 as the Staff Accountant. From there, he became the Director of Finance in 2012 and has been in that position ever since.

He has played an integral role in helping Tomball ISD earn a Superior rating for Fiscal Management and Financial Condition while also receiving the Excellence in Financial Reporting award from national organizations for the last 22 years. Boles has also been a part of a Finance team that has helped Tomball ISD establish an AA+ rating with Standard & Poor's and an Aa1 rating with Moody's.

He graduated from Texas State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and from Sam Houston State University with a Master of Business Administration in 2017.
