Information for Applicants for Appointment as a Trustee
The Tomball ISD Board of Trustees voted at its meeting on December 16, 2025, to call for applications and a completed affidavit of eligibility from individuals who are interested in being appointed to fill the vacant TISD Trustee Position 1 seat for the remainder of the position’s term.
The individual appointed to fill the vacancy will serve until the current term expires in December 2026. The TISD Trustee Position 1 seat will be on the November 2026 general Harris County and Montgomery County election ballots. To be eligible to serve as a Trustee, individuals must meet the following qualifications:

United States citizen;

At least eighteen (18) years of age;

A qualified registered voter in the District;

A resident of the District for six (6) months and a resident of the State for twelve (12) months before the application deadline;

Have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgement of a court;

Have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities;

Satisfy any other eligibility requirements prescribed by law for the office.
The Trustee position is voluntary and uncompensated.
Individuals interested in being appointed to fill the vacant position should first review the information packet. Next, interested individuals must complete the following application and affidavit of eligibility. Please review the information packet completely prior to completion of the application and affidavit.
Please note that a complete application includes the completed application form and the eligibility affidavit that requires notarization. All completed materials, including the application and affidavit of eligibility, must be submitted to TISD by 4:30 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
Incomplete applications or applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Materials may be submitted by email at elections@tomballisd.net from December 17, 2025, through January 7, 2026, or in person at the John P. Neubauer Administration Building, 310 S. Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas, from January 5, 2026 through January 7, 2026 during normal business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Notaries will be available during normal business hours from January 5th through January 7th.
Interviews for the vacant position will be conducted during a Special Meeting of the Board on January 13, 2026 at 6:30 p.m. Selected applicants must be available for an interview at this date and time. Not all applicants will be selected for an interview.
