Assistive Technology

Assistive technology devices and services are available to students who have been identified as eligible for special education services and demonstrate a need.  Tomball ISD boasts a cohort of trained administrators, teachers, appraisal personnel, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and certified hearing and vision specialists who work collaboratively with the student and family to identify assistive technology solutions that will result in student access to the curriculum and provide training to the student, teacher, and other support persons.

Tomball provides a suite of universal tools to all students and staff that support our belief that students who actively engage in innovative learning experiences will adapt and succeed in an ever-changing world.  The integration of the tools ensures that students learn to seamlessly apply self-selected technology to address learning needs, whether a preference or a requirement to perform a task.

In addition, Tomball supports the professional development of faculty and staff in the identification, selection and implementation of specialized assistive technology tools our students with disabilities need for reading, writing, communication, and participation in academic and extracurricular activities.
