Parental Access to Library Material

It is the Tomball ISD policy that parents and guardians are the primary decision-makers regarding their student’s access to library materials and are active in their child’s reading journey.  

Parents and guardians can view all books and other materials checked out to their children through their campus library, as well as indicate books they do not want their child to check out through a parent user account in the library Destiny catalog.  

Instructions for Parent/Guardian Account Setup/Features

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to communicate with the campus librarian and their child’s teacher about special considerations regarding library materials that have been self-selected by their student. In accordance with state law and administrative procedures, parents or guardians may select alternative library materials for their student. 
 
Parents can access the Library Online Catalog link from any Library Services webpage. Library digital resources can be accessed by logging into the student’s account through the TISD online portal.
