Textbook Department

Welcome to the website for the Textbook Department of Tomball ISD.  The Textbook Department maintains the district's textbook inventory and ensures that Instructional Materials are distributed to the district's campuses in the most effective and efficient manner possible.  

 

Textbooks and Instructional Materials are purchased with the use of Instructional Materials Allotment (IMA) established under Senate Bill 6 that went into law on September 1, 2011. Each district is entitled to an IMA.  The amount of the IMA is determined biennially by the commissioner and is based on the legislative appropriation. By working closely with the Curriculum and Instruction Department of TISD, the Textbook Department coordinates the review, adoption, purchase, and distribution of instructional materials throughout the district.

 

TipWeb is Tomball ISD's textbook management system to manage, inventory, communicate, and provide the availability of instructional resources for textbooks, resource kits, and digital licenses. Campus designees are responsible for maintaining textbook inventory and requesting additional textbooks when needed for the campus.  This process is performed through the TipWeb online management system.
