TOMBALL - Over 500 graduating seniors from Tomball High School and Tomball Memorial High School were recognized at the end of the 2025-2026 school year for their achievements in Career and Technical Education (CTE), earning distinguished CTE Honor Cords to wear during commencement ceremonies.

The CTE Honor Cord represents more than course completion—it signifies a student’s dedication to mastering technical knowledge and career-ready skills while earning an Industry-Based Certification aligned to their program of study. These certifications demonstrate that students are prepared to enter high-demand industries with real-world experience and professional-level competencies.

“Tomball ISD students earning CTE Honor Cords have demonstrated both academic commitment and technical excellence,” said Karla Sandoval, Tomball ISD Director of Career and Technical Education. “These students have completed rigorous coursework while also gaining hands-on experience and industry certifications that make them immediately employable in their chosen fields.”

Over the past several years, Tomball ISD has continued expanding opportunities within its Career and Technical Education programs. The District has increased the number of available CTE pathways, student participation in programs of study, opportunities to earn industry certifications, and involvement in cocurricular competitions and student organizations.

By combining strong academic foundations with technical training and work-based learning experiences, Tomball ISD equips students with skills that extend far beyond the classroom. Through hands-on instruction, soft skill development, and industry-aligned learning, students graduate prepared for college, careers, or military service.

“CTE gives students the opportunity to ‘try out’ an industry while still in high school,” Sandoval added. “It helps students sharpen their focus as they solidify plans for college majors and future careers. By aligning learning with students’ personal interests and strengths, we are preparing them for meaningful futures and good-paying careers.”

Tomball ISD remains committed to ensuring every student graduates future-ready by providing innovative learning experiences that bridge academic knowledge with practical application. The recognition of these CTE Honor Graduates highlights the District’s continued focus on preparing students for success in an ever-evolving workforce.
