Her path to education started early—with a classroom full of dolls, stuffed animals and one reluctant baby brother. Today, she has spent 22 years in education, including 14 years serving the students and families of Tomball ISD.

Finding Her Calling

After graduating from Tomball High School, she attended Stephen F. Austin State University, earning her degree in EC–6 Education. She later earned her master's degree in Early Childhood Intervention from Mississippi State University.

But her calling to teach began long before college.

“My career goal since I was a small child has been to teach. My first teaching experience was with a class consisting of dolls, stuffed animals, and my reluctant baby brother.”

Her love of working with children continued throughout her childhood and into her school years. She helped in nursery school, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School before working her way through high school and college in child care centers and as a teacher assistant at SFA.

Her journey eventually brought her to Tomball ISD as a substitute teacher and, later, a classroom teacher.

Now: Tomball ISD Educator

Current role: Behavior Interventionist at Early Excellence Academy
Tomball ISD experience: 14 years
Education experience: 22 years, including private school, substitute teaching and paraprofessional experience

Previous roles in Tomball ISD:
PreK, Kindergarten and 1st Grade Teacher • Adaptive Behavior Teacher • PreK Specials

She has served students at both Decker Prairie Elementary and Early Excellence Academy, working with students across a variety of roles and grade levels.

Why Tomball?

Returning to Tomball ISD was about more than coming back to the district where she grew up. She wanted her own children to have that same experience.

“I wanted my kids to grow up in the same school district that I graduated from and get the best education possible.”

One word to describe Tomball ISD: Connected

Beyond the Classroom

When she's not helping students at school, she enjoys making T-shirts, coaching her son's flag football team, traveling and spending time with family.

If she weren't an educator, she might be exploring the world beneath the waves as an oceanographer.

Something Students Might Be Surprised to Learn

She's a proud Disney adult!

“I love everything Disney! (Even more than my kids.)”

From a little girl teaching her stuffed animals to a Tomball ISD educator helping students thrive — her journey is a true example of a calling that started early and came full circle!
