For Lynn Brewer, Tomball ISD isn't just where she works—it’s home. A Tomball High School alumna and lifelong advocate for music education, she returned to the district to share her passion for music with the next generation.

Finding Her Calling

After graduating from Tomball High School, Lynn attended Sam Houston State University, earning her Bachelor of Music Education. She later earned her Master of Music from Arizona State University.

For Lynn, a career in music education was about sharing something she has always loved.

“I want to impart the passion I feel for music to students and create lifelong musicians.”

That passion has guided her throughout 24 years in education.

Why Tomball?

For Lynn, there was never really anywhere else she wanted to be.

“It is my home. My children also attended Tomball schools, and my father was the band and choir director at THS. The Fine Arts wing is named after him.”

Her connection to Tomball ISD spans generations—a family legacy that continues through the students she teaches today.

Beyond the Classroom

When she's not making music, Lynn enjoys traveling.

And if she weren't an educator, she would still be surrounded by music—she'd be working in church music.

Something Students Might Be Surprised to Learn

Lynn's connection to music in Tomball goes back much further than her 14 years as a Tomball ISD educator.

The Texas Master Chorale has invited the THS Chorale to perform with them this December. What her students might not know is that Lynn was a charter member of the Texas Master Chorale 40 years ago and performed with the group at Lincoln Center in New York City.

Now, she gets to help her own students create musical memories of their own.
