THS’ Chris Scott Named Tomball ISD Secondary Principal of the Year

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD has named Chris Scott its Secondary Principal of the Year for the 2021-2022 school year.

Each day, Scott leads the way as Principal at Tomball High School and walks the halls of where he wrapped up his high school career as a Cougar. A 1992 graduate of THS, Scott continues to represent the Pride of Texas.

“Tomball ISD is incredibly proud of Mr. Chris Scott and this accomplishment,” said Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools, Dr. Mindy Munoz. “Mr. Scott knows what it takes to build a strong culture of success. He strives to showcase Tomball High School’s accomplishments, accolades and recognitions and his staff and students continue to thrive under his leadership and vision that has been set for ‘The Pride of Texas’.”

Scott brings 24 years of experience to education. He has been serving Tomball ISD since 2008 and has been a part of this growing district in a variety of roles ever since. Scott began his professional career in TISD as the Math & Science Director where he spent nearly seven years in that role.

After spending some time away from a campus, Scott had the opportunity to open Creekside Park Junior High, as Principal in August 2016. Following his stint as Principal at CPJH, the opportunity to return to the high school level and to his alma mater opened up and Scott was tasked with the role as Principal at Tomball High School in 2017.

Under his leadership, Scott has continued to lead Tomball High School through a very challenging time in education and has seen his students grow, flourish and thrive in a high-academic environment all while continuing to celebrate the numerous successes these students have accomplished during their educational experience.

What are you most proud of as Principal?
“The ability to return to the high school I graduated from and serve as Principal would be rewarding enough, but to do this and see my own children attend and graduate from THS has been very special as an educator and as a father.”

What is the most rewarding aspect of being a campus leader?
“Making a positive difference in the lives of students and staff everyday is priceless. The ability to make a lasting positive impact on a young person's life path through the relationships you build with them is rewarding. I have fun at my job and what makes it fun are my students and my teammates at THS and TISD.”

Why Tomball ISD and Tomball High School?
“We are simply the best. The PRIDE of Texas is a school that has and will always mean so much to me because of my own high school experience and the experience I have had there with the staff and students, including my own personal children. Tomball ISD has fantastic leadership and support and we are TEAM Tomball and have and will continue to meet every challenge now and in the future.”
