Jessica Perez Set to Lead Early Excellence Academy, the District’s New Pre-K Center, Opening August 2023, as Principal

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD is excited to announce current TISD administrator Jessica Perez as the new Principal of Early Excellence Academy, the District’s new Pre-K Center, opening August 2023.

Perez has served in Tomball ISD since 2016 in a variety of roles, including her current role as Assistant Principal at Oakcrest Intermediate School. She has served education for over 19 years and brings previous experience at the early childhood level. 

Prior to joining OIS as Assistant Principal, Perez served as Tomball ISD’s Director of Multilingual Programs. She has also dedicated her time to being a Bilingual Content Specialist, Pre-K Specialist, and Coordinator of Bilingual Programs.

Perez began her educational career in Roma ISD as a 4th grade bilingual teacher. After relocating to the Houston area, she taught a variety of grade levels in bilingual education in Cy-Fair ISD. During her time in Cy-Fair, she served as a Pre-K teacher and as an administrator for the Early Learning Center.

What made you interested in becoming the Principal of the new Early Excellence Academy? 
“I became interested in becoming the Principal of our EEA because being a Principal allows me to impact every student by making sure each child has the opportunity to learn and grow to reach their potential. I want to continue to interact with students while creating a positive and high-quality learning environment for all.”

What are you looking forward to the most about leading TISD’s newest school? 
“I am really looking forward to coming together as an early childhood family to educate our youngest learners in a state-of-the-art facility that was developed specifically with our youngest learners in mind.”

ABOUT EARLY EXCELLENCE ACADEMY
Early Excellence Academy will serve our youngest learners from a portion of the district in order to assist with capacity at multiple campuses that currently house Pre-K programs. EEA is part of Bond 2021 projects and is expected to open August 2023.

In order for one to qualify for attendance at the Early Excellence Academy and TISD Pre-K programs, a student must be 4 years old on or before September 1 and meet state qualifications to attend. Online Pre-K Registration for the 2023-2024 school year opens April 3, 2023.
