TOMBALL - Jade Lopez, current Tomball Memorial High School Assistant Principal, has been named the new Director of Tomball ISD Stadium and Event Center following the retirement announcement from current Director Alicia Engelke. This change will occur at the end of the 2024-2025 school year.

“We are excited to welcome Jade Lopez to our Operations team as the new Director of Tomball ISD Stadium and Event Center,” said Dr. Steven Gutierrez, TISD Chief Operating Officer. “With her background as a campus administrator, Jade understands the importance of creating spaces where students, staff, and our community at-large feel at home. Her servant-minded leadership and commitment to supporting our schools make her a great fit for this role as we ensure our facilities reflect the care and pride we have for our stakeholders in Tomball ISD.”

Lopez joined Tomball ISD in 2019 and served as a 504/Testing Campus Coordinator at TMHS. In 2021-2022, she was promoted to Assistant Principal at TMHS. 

Lopez brings a deep understanding of the Tomball community, operational insight from her years as a campus administrator, and a strong commitment to supporting engagement and elevating the overall experience for the fans and community while visiting the Tomball ISD Stadium and Event Center. 

Her educational experience dates back to 2006, bringing a diverse background to her roles. Prior to joining TISD as a testing coordinator, Lopez spent her early years (2006-19) in Spring ISD, handling a variety of responsibilities, including a PEIMS analyst, campus registrar, classroom teacher, coach and a testing coordinator.

What excites you about stepping into this new role?
“I am thrilled to take on the role of Director at the Tomball Event Center. I am particularly excited by the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of individuals and to dedicate myself to ensuring that each person has a positive and memorable experience at the Event Center. Furthermore, I am deeply committed to upholding and enhancing the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that Tomball is known for.”

How do you see your experience at the campus level helping you transition?
“My experience collaborating with parents, students, and teachers has cultivated a profound understanding of the vital importance of fostering environments where individuals feel deeply valued, supported, and cherished. This intrinsic dedication to nurturing positive and inclusive spaces will be invaluable as I transition into this role. My involvement in assisting with and planning numerous school-wide events has provided me with a strong foundation in orchestrating successful and welcoming experiences. I am eager to leverage these skills to ensure that all who enter the Tomball Event Center are met with genuine warmth by creating a welcoming and enriching Destination for every visitor.”

Founded in 1908, Tomball ISD now encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates 23,000 students across 24 campuses. Tomball Intermediate will open August 2025 as the 25th campus and Tomball West High School will become Tomball ISD’s 26th campus and third comprehensive high school.
