GOES Principal

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD has announced Mrs. Heather Myers will return to Tomball ISD as the next Principal of Grand Oaks Elementary.

“We are excited to welcome Mrs. Heather Myers back to Tomball after a successful tenure as campus Principal in Waller ISD,” said Dr. George Flores, TISD Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools. “Mrs. Myers has established meaningful relationships and systems at a fast growth campus through her focused leadership. She has a passion for student learning and a heart for Tomball, and we are excited to see her leadership shine as we know the future is very bright at Grand Oaks Elementary!”

Mrs. Myers brings more than 16 years of experience in education and joins Tomball ISD, having most recently served as the Principal of Wayne C. Schultz Junior High in Waller ISD. In that role, she oversaw all daily operations for a campus serving approximately 1,300 students and led a diverse staff of instructional, administrative, and support personnel. Prior to serving as Principal, she also served as an Assistant Principal, helping lead the successful transition into a new campus while supporting the development of school-wide systems, procedures, and campus culture.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Myers has served in a variety of instructional and leadership roles, including Instructional Specialist, Math Department Head, and classroom teacher at both the intermediate and junior high levels. She also previously served students in Tomball ISD as a math teacher at Tomball Junior High.

Mrs. Myers earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from The University of Texas at Tyler and has demonstrated a strong commitment to building positive school cultures, supporting teachers, and ensuring students feel connected and successful. Her leadership experience includes guiding Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiatives focused on character development, relationship-building, and creating safe, supportive learning environments for all students.

As a Tomball resident and parent, Mrs. Myers has a personal connection to the Grand Oaks community and shared that the opportunity to serve the campus is especially meaningful to her family.

Mrs. Myers brings a comprehensive understanding of school leadership and student support. These strengths, combined with a passion for fostering positive relationships and student success, are why we are excited to see what the future holds at Grand Oaks Elementary under her leadership.

What made you interested in being a campus leader in Tomball ISD?
Tomball ISD isn't just a school district to me; it's home. When my family moved here, this district welcomed my own children with open arms and provided them with an incredible, supportive education. Having seen firsthand how the district invests in its students as a parent, I’ve always felt called to pay that blessing forward. The commitment to excellence, the tight-knit community feel, and the unwavering focus on the whole child make Tomball ISD the best place to lead, serve, and make a lasting impact.

What is it about education that you love so much?
The best part of education is the incredible privilege of becoming a part of people’s stories. Every student and staff member who walks through our doors is on a unique journey; helping them grow, overcome challenges, and discover their full potential is the ultimate reward. For me, education is about building an inclusive culture that intentionally brings out the best in everyone, including our students, our staff, our parents, and all community stakeholders. When we unite under a shared vision of mutual respect and high expectations, we create an environment where a true love of learning can foster and thrive. Nothing is more fulfilling than cultivating a school community where everyone feels valued, supported, and inspired to achieve greatness together.

What can the GOES community expect from you as their next leader?
As your next principal at Grand Oaks Elementary, I promise to bring dedication, clear communication, and a heart for service to the community every single day. You will see me in the hallways, in classrooms, at morning drop-off, and at school events because I truly believe leadership requires being present and approachable for staff, students, and parents alike. Our students can expect a loving principal who knows them by name, believes in their potential, and is not afraid to be a little silly to bring smiles to their faces. I am committed to maintaining high expectations for academic and personal growth while ensuring those expectations are matched with the strong support needed for everyone to thrive. I view my role as the ultimate support system for our educators, ensuring they have the tools, leadership opportunities, and encouragement they need to continue growing and guiding our students. Families can expect transparent, consistent communication and a welcoming environment where their voices are always heard and valued. I am incredibly excited about the journey ahead and the opportunity to serve the wonderful students, staff, and families at Grand Oaks Elementary!
