TOMBALL - Dr. Kelly Marchiando, Principal of Tomball Star Academy, has been named the new Principal of Tomball Intermediate School for the 2023-2024 school year. She will replace Samora Davis who is leaving for another professional opportunity.

Over the last 2.5 years, Dr. Marchiando has successfully led Tomball Star Academy, played an integral role in the future opening of Tomball ISD’s P-TECH, and most recently celebrated with the Tomball Star Academy campus staff as a PLC Model School.

Prior to joining Tomball ISD, she spent time in Conroe ISD where she served that district as the Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at The Woodlands High School.

Before her latest stint in Conroe ISD, Dr. Marchiando served as the Gifted and Talented Coordinator in Humble ISD during two different stints (2015-16, 2013-14). Between the two, she was the Assistant Principal at the Conroe 9th Grade Campus in Conroe ISD (2014-15).

Dr. Marchiando spent the previous seven years in Humble ISD as a campus administrator, specifically as an Assistant Principal at both Summer Creek High School (2009-12) and Kingwood High School (2012-13).

Her education career began back in 2002 as a 7th grade ELA teacher at Dulles Middle School in Sugar Land before joining Humble ISD in 2004 where she served as an 8th grade RELA GT teacher at Creekwood Middle School until 2009.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, a Master’s degree in Education Administration from Sam Houston State University and a Doctorate of Education in Professional Leadership from the University of Houston.
