TOMBALL - Tomball ISD was recently validated by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA). This validation brings new opportunities and a new position, and with that, TISD is excited to announce that current TMHS Principal Dr. Jeff Bailey will assume the new role of School Leadership Officer in July.

"Dr. Bailey brings 25 years of diverse educational experience to our team," said Dr. Amy Schindewolf, TISD Chief of Staff and School Leadership. "He has been a highly successful principal and district leader who has a talent of creating effective systems that support the learning of students. We are excited to have Dr. Bailey enhance our team at the district level in TISD."

This position is funded by TEA and will strategically monitor school leadership and student needs, school improvement process, organizational coherence, and the alignment and equity of resources to schools. In addition, Dr. Bailey will oversee strategic initiatives such as the Teacher Incentive Allotment.

“The School Leadership Officer role is an exciting opportunity to not only support students and staff at TMHS but districtwide,” said Dr. Bailey. “This position supports campuses and teachers for their incredible success with student growth through the Teacher Incentive Allotment program. The position also provides an opportunity to support campuses by providing targeted support for areas of growth and campus needs while also celebrating successes and student achievements.”

Dr. Bailey has spent the last three years leading Tomball Memorial High School as its campus Principal. During that time, he was named the 2023 Tomball ISD Secondary Principal of the Year.

“Words cannot express how grateful I am to all of the students, staff, family and community members who have partnered with me over the last three years to make Tomball Memorial such an amazing high school,” said Dr. Bailey. “The relationships I have built and the opportunity to watch our students grow and succeed both academically and in their extracurriculars has been so rewarding. I am honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to serve our community alongside such incredible educators. I will truly miss the daily interactions on campus but look forward to impacting students and staff districtwide in my new role and watching and supporting TMHS in the years to come.”

He has served education for over 20 years, and brings an immense amount of campus and district administrative leadership experience to this new role. Prior to joining Tomball ISD in 2021, he served as the Executive Director for Teaching and Learning in Klein ISD since 2017. He also spent time leading several secondary campuses in KISD.

He is a 2018 Holdsworth Center District Leadership Program graduate and earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Houston, his Master’s Degree from Prairie View A&M University and his Doctorate from Texas A&M University, where he was named the Paul R. Hensarling Distinguished Student.

Current Principal of Tomball Star Academy Jennifer Collier will become the next Principal of Tomball Memorial High School, effective July 1.

Tomball ISD educates students to become responsible, productive citizens by providing innovative, individually rigorous, and personally valuable educational experiences. Founded in 1908, Tomball ISD now encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates over 22,000 students across 23 campuses.
