TOMBALL - Tomball ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora has announced current Chief of Staff and School Leadership Dr. Amy Schindewolf will become the District’s Deputy Superintendent, effective for the 2025-2026 school year.

In this role, Dr. Schindewolf will continue the responsibilities of overseeing the Office of School Leadership, Human Talent, Accountability, and Technology. In addition, she will support the Superintendent and district leadership with strategic leadership and district-wide planning, academic and instructional leadership, organizational management and operations, policy and compliance, human capital and talent development, community outreach, and data-driven decision making.

As a strategic leader, Dr. Schindewolf will support our District's vision through comprehensive planning, academic excellence, and an innovative leadership approach. Her dedication to organizational management, human capital development, and community engagement will empower our schools and leaders to continuing thriving in our Destination District, and with these new responsibilities, Dr. Schindewolf will play a critical role in ensuring we continue to meet the needs of our students, staff, and families."

Dr. Schindewolf brings nearly 29 years of educational experience to this role and joined Tomball ISD back in 2011.

Since 2021, Dr. Schindewolf has led as Chief of Staff and School Leadership. Prior to that role, she served four years as the Chief Academic Officer, playing an integral role in the District’s overall success, including its consistent A rating.

Dr. Schindewolf currently leads the work of Exceeding Excellence 2030 - Tomball ISD’s Strategic Plan and successfully led the work of the completed Destination 2025 - Tomball ISD’s previous Strategic Plan.

Prior to being named Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Schindewolf served as Assistant Superintendent of Secondary Schools from 2014 to 2017 and as Principal of Tomball Junior High from 2011 to 2014. 

She also brings experience as a classroom teacher, where she began her education career in a neighboring district back in 1997, as a campus administrator (2003-2014).
