TOMBALL - Tomball ISD is excited to welcome Ms. Christina (Chris) Winstead to Tomball ISD as the next Principal of Creekview Elementary. She replaces Allyson Jordan, who recently stepped down as Principal to spend time with her family.

“We are excited to welcome Ms. Chris Winstead as the new Principal of Creekview Elementary,” said Dr. George Flores, Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Schools. “Ms. Winstead is a proven leader and has a long track record of success in building and sustaining strong school-community partnerships where student success is at the center of all decisions and celebrations. Her knowledge and expertise in school administration will support in continuing the legacy of success at Creekview for years to come.”

Ms. Winstead joins Tomball ISD directly from Spring Branch ISD where she has served as a campus Principal at Pine Shadows Elementary since 2012.

As an educator, Ms. Winstead began her career as a teacher in Aldine ISD, then spent time in Spring ISD where she later became a campus administrator, serving as Principal for two campuses in SISD. In addition to many community initiatives, Ms. Winstead was named Spring Branch ISD Principal of the Year and Spring ISD Teacher of the Year during her career.

Not only does she bring PK-5 experience, but she has also spent time as a supervisor for interns and student teachers as an adjunct professor at the college level.

Ms. Winstead is an experienced educator who has a diverse background in school administration, curriculum planning, data driven instruction and community relations.

What was intriguing about joining Tomball ISD as a campus leader?
“Your vision, “Tomball ISD students will LEAD in creating the future,” is the vision I have as a leader.

  • My leadership style aligns with your vision and goals for students, staff, and community.

  • I was intrigued by the dynamic experiences provided to the students, staff, and families.

  • Additionally, I am excited about the professional opportunities for growth and development in a district which is leading the way for extraordinary educational development of the stakeholders in TISD.”

What is it about education that you love so much?
“I embrace the opportunity to provide a collaborative culture of collective greatness and curiosity for the students, staff and families within a school setting and community.   I love the fact that schools allow students and staff to maximize their abilities and potential every single day. The outcomes are phenomenal when students, staff, and community find success, support and a caring environment in which to maximize their abilities.”

What can the CES community expect from you as their new leader?
“My hope is that the CES community finds me to be a compassionate, caring leader who thinks critically, who likes to explore fearlessly, and who works to respect the strengths and needs  of every child.”
