TISD to Host Rodeo Art Show Jan. 22; Student Artists Earn Top Honors at HLSR Art Show

TOMBALL — Tomball ISD student artists recently competed in the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Art Program. Exemplifying excellence in their specific art, eight students across six campuses earned Best of Show or Gold Medal honors.

In an effort to promote the district’s talented student artists, Tomball ISD will host its annual Rodeo Art Show at the Tomball Event Center from 9 a.m. to Noon on Saturday, January 22.

This show will feature the 2022 entries across all campuses. The eight who earned Best of Show or Gold Medal honors are on display in Houston awaiting the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, but will be featured digitally on Jan. 22 in Tomball. 

Earning Best of Show honors (pictured in order below): 

  • Rodeos are Dead by Isabella Alzamora, Tomball High School
  • Dapple Day by Lauren Ellington, Tomball Memorial High School
  • Saddled up with Sally by Vivian Nguyen, Grand Lakes Junior High
  • Red Rose Cactus by Jackson Budd, Timber Creek Elementary

  • The Warmth of Texas by Kaylie Perez, Tomball Memorial High School
  • The Shock of Daylight by Jason Ou, Tomball Memorial High School
