Tomball ISD Promotes a Love for Reading with ‘Tomball Reads to Succeed’ Week

“Tomball Reads to Succeed” Week celebrates the power of reading.

This initiative has been in place in Tomball ISD for several years, organized by the Tomball ISD elementary school librarians and counselors. By promoting literacy in Tomball ISD schools, Tomball Reads Week brought together the local community to celebrate the power of reading with our youngest learners.

From April 1-5, elementary classrooms across the district were full of excitement as a diverse group of guest readers stepped up to share their love of reading. These volunteers included parents, community members, district leaders, and school board members. Each guest reader visited a class, read a favorite book, and then opened up a discussion about the importance of reading in their own careers.

"Tomball Reads to Succeed" Week wasn't just about entertaining stories; it was about showing students the importance of reading. By discussing their own careers and how reading plays a crucial role in their daily lives, these heroes brought the importance of literacy to life.

By igniting a passion for reading, "Tomball Reads to Succeed" Week sparks children's imaginations and builds a strong foundation that will empower students for years to come. It's a testament to the power of community when everyone comes together to share stories and passions, inspiring the next generation of Tomball ISD students.
