Tomball ISD Students are Reader Leaders in Battle of Books Competition
Tomball ISD students made an impressive showing at the 2024 Tomball ISD Battle of the Books, led by teams from Timber Creek Elementary and Northpointe Intermediate, who took home top honors.
Battle of the Books is a book-related competition for students in grades 3-8. All Tomball ISD elementary, junior high and intermediate campuses had at least one team represented at the District competition. Students are organized into teams of three to six members and those students read up to 30 books to prepare for the competition. All students on the campus are welcome to participate.
The campuses have a local competition to determine the top team(s) to compete at the District level. At the tournament, students are quizzed about books that they have read from the designated reading lists and have to respond with the correct book title and author to receive points.
