Tomball ISD Students Earn 838 AP Scholar Awards, Showcasing Academic Excellence

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD high school students combined for an impressive 838 Advanced Placement (AP) Scholar Awards, reflecting their exceptional dedication, academic achievement, and commitment to excellence through rigorous AP coursework.

Students from Tomball High School (THS), Tomball Memorial High School (TMHS), and Tomball Star Academy (TSA) were recognized across multiple AP distinction levels:

304 AP Scholars — THS (132), TMHS (141), TSA (31)

**Granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP exams.

149 AP Scholars with Honor — THS (72), TMHS (61), TSA (16)

**Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

293 AP Scholars with Distinction — THS (145), TMHS (147), TSA (1)

**Granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.

1 AP International Diploma — TMHS (1)

**Students must score a 3 or higher on 5 or more AP Exams. Students must either attend a school outside the U.S., U.S. territories and the DoDEA network or they must send AP scores to a university outside the U.S. 

60 AP Capstone Diplomas — THS (21), TMHS (39)

**Granted to students participating in the AP Capstone program and who earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar and AP Research and on 4 additional AP Exams of their choosing.

31 AP Seminar and Research Certificates — THS (4), TMHS (27)

**Granted to students participating in the AP Capstone program and who earn scores of 3 or higher in both AP Seminar and AP Research.


These recognitions celebrate students who have demonstrated college-level mastery in multiple subjects through the College Board’s AP Program, which provides opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school.

“Tomball ISD is proud of our students for their outstanding accomplishments in the AP Program,” said Dr. Michael Webb, Tomball ISD Chief Academic Officer. “Their achievements reflect both the academic rigor offered across our campuses and the dedication of our teachers who help prepare them for success beyond high school.”

Tomball ISD continues to expand access to AP courses and college-level learning opportunities, ensuring all students are equipped for future success in college, career, and life.
