Tomball ISD Reaffirms Elite Academic Performance with 7th Consecutive "A" Rating

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD is proud to announce it has once again earned an official “A” rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for 2026. Maintaining a top-tier score of 92, this milestone marks the seventh consecutive year the District has received the state's highest possible rating since the inception of the A–F Accountability System, solidifying its reputation as a benchmark for academic excellence in Texas.

NOTABLES

• Exceptional Campus Success: 18 out of 23 campuses earned an individual “A” rating—representing a 20% increase in “A”-rated campuses since 2019.
• 7-Year Streak: Tomball ISD maintains an overall 92 A-rating, extending its uninterrupted streak of district-wide "A" designations to seven straight years.
• The ONE and ONLY: Tomball ISD once again is the ONLY A-rated school district in both Harris and Montgomery counties.
• Sustained High School Distinction: Tomball High School and Tomball Memorial High School maintained a straight A rating across all three domain components for the third consecutive year.
• Early College Excellence: Tomball Star Academy maintained a straight A rating across all domains for the fifth consecutive year.
• Standout Growth: Highlights include a premier “A” rating for Tomball Intermediate School and a remarkable five percentage point jump for Decker Prairie Elementary, elevating the campus to an 89.

“Earning an A-rating for the seventh consecutive time is a direct reflection of the dedication, resilience, and strategic vision shared across our entire community,” said Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora, Tomball ISD Superintendent of Schools. “From Tomball Intermediate and Decker Prairie Elementary achieving new growth milestones to our high schools maintaining premier straight-A standards, these results highlight the relentless work of our teachers, students, and campus leaders, along with the unwavering support of our TISD families.”

The TISD Board of Trustees continues to provide vital leadership, pairing high academic expectations with sound financial stewardship to ensure schools have the resources needed to thrive and achieve at very high levels.

The TEA’s accountability ratings evaluate districts and campuses across three core domains: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps. Tomball ISD’s exceptional performance across all metrics reflects a district-wide culture focused on continuous improvement and strong student achievement.
