US News Best High School Rankings

TOMBALL –  All three Tomball ISD high schools not only earned the coveted “Best High Schools in the US” ranking by U.S. News & World Report for the 2023-2024 academic year but were ranked among the Top 10% in the United States. The U.S. News rankings include data on nearly 25,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Texas Ranking: 85
Houston Area: 20
National Ranking: 607 (Top 2.4%)

Texas Ranking: 183
National Ranking: 1,682 (Top 6.7%)

Texas Ranking: 261
National Ranking: 2,603 (Top 10.4%)

“All three of our Tomball ISD high schools are exemplary schools that define excellence and have earned their place among the Top 10% in the nation on the ‘Best High Schools’ list,” said Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora, Superintendent of Schools. “Our teachers, administrators, and our staff who serve these campuses have continued to focus on a positive campus culture, coupled with a relentless pursuit of constant growth that fosters high-quality learning for all students. These rankings are a testament to our shared commitment and vision we have in our Destination District.”

The highest ranked U.S. public schools in the U.S. News & World Report's 2023-2024 Best High Schools rankings are those whose students demonstrated outstanding outcomes, surpassing expectations in math, reading and science state assessments, earned qualifying scores in an array of college-level exams, and graduated in high proportions. The data assessed by U.S. News Report is based on high schools that had a 12th grade enrollment of 15 students or greater during the 2021-2022 school year.

Tomball ISD educates students to become responsible, productive citizens by providing innovative, individually rigorous, and personally valuable educational experiences. Founded in 1908, Tomball ISD now encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates over 22,000 students across 23 campuses.
