TOMBALL - In preparation for the start of the 2025-2026 school year, Tomball ISD celebrated the opening of its fourth intermediate campus, West Intermediate, during a ribbon cutting ceremony on May 2.

West Intermediate is a completed Bond 2021 project and is the second of three campuses to open within the West Complex as West Elementary opened in August 2024.

Home of the Tigers, West Intermediate, is the 25th campus in Tomball ISD, and will begin serving students in August 2025. The campus will serve students in fifth and sixth grade and Dr. Caitlin Cain will lead as the school’s first Principal.

“Today’s ribbon cutting ceremony is a proud milestone for Tomball ISD and a powerful reminder of what we can achieve together,” said Dr. Martha Salazar-Zamora, TISD Superintendent of Schools. “The opening of West Intermediate was made possible by the strong support of our community through the successful passing of Bond 2021, and we are deeply grateful for the trust and investment in our students’ future. This building represents not just bricks and mortar, but a shared vision for excellence in education and a lasting legacy for generations to come.”

“The Tomball ISD Board of Trustees is thrilled to open the West Intermediate School. This new facility on the western side of our District addresses our fast enrollment growth and represents our commitment to providing a safe, and inspiring environment for our students to learn and grow,” said Dr. Michael Pratt, Tomball ISD Board President. “West Intermediate is a great example of Bond 2021 dollars at work, and we are thankful to our Tomball Community for their overwhelming vote to support Bond 2021! Today’s ribbon cutting marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our community, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our children and their future.”

The ribbon cutting expressed acknowledgement for the work performed by the experts from LAN, ICI Construction and Arcadis Architects who joined Tomball ISD Board of Trustees and its Leadership Team in bringing this project to fruition.
