Tomball ISD Awarded EVERFI Empowered District Seal for Preparing Students for Success in the Real World

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD’s dedication to providing an evidence-informed education that prepares students for success in the real world has led it to earn the annual EVERFI Empowered Seal

Now in its fourth year, the EVERFI Empowered Seal is a designation awarded to public school districts that have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to comprehensive education strategies on topics such as financial literacy, health, and careers. This is the first time that Tomball ISD has been awarded the Empowered Seal.

The EVERFI Empowered Seal recognizes Tomball ISD, which ranks in the Top 10% of school districts for its commitment to whole-child education.

“EVERFI is an essential resource in Tomball ISD’s restorative approach to discipline and the District is proud to be recognized nationally for its dedication to all students,” said Tomball ISD Director of Guidance and Counseling Steve Shiels. “When students make mistakes, it is often because they lack the skills and/or information to make good decisions. EVERFI modules can help build up these skill deficits with education modules that include conflict resolution, vaping, substance abuse prevention, and mental wellness. In 2022-23, TISD students engaged in over 2,600 EVERFI courses.”

In addition to being recognized nationally for their work, the Empowered Seal provides districts with the opportunity to apply for the Empowered Seal grant. Six Empowered Seal districts will be selected as winners, with each district’s preferred non-profit receiving $1,000.
