Important Update on School Meals

Beginning this August for the 2022-2023 school year, student meal rates return to all of our campuses.

USDA Waivers for free meals for all students due to the pandemic have ended. Households must apply annually for free or reduced price meal benefits. Households may complete an application at www.schoolcafe.com.

Download the SchoolCafe App or visit the SchoolCafe website to access your student’s meal account. Creating an account gives parents the ability to:

• Apply for free or reduced meals
• Make payments with a credit card
• View purchase history

MORE THAN JUST A MEAL APPLICATION

Families who think they may qualify for free or reduced price meals are encouraged to apply. The process is quick and filling out an application may help provide:

• School Funding: Our district can receive increased funding to support students in a variety of ways
• Discounts for Students: Certain academic fees may be discounted or waived for eligible students

CHARGE POLICY

Students may charge meals up to the value of two breakfasts and two lunches. An automated phone call and email occurs when a negative balance appears on a student’s account. If a student account exhausts the grace period/charge limit, the student must select a peanut butter and jelly or toasted cheese sandwich entree for lunch and/or a cereal entrée for breakfast until the negative balance is paid. A la Carte items are not available for charging.
