TOMBALL - Tomball ISD proudly celebrates two student-athletes who captured UIL 6A State Championships at the 2026 UIL State Track & Field Meet, marking a historic moment for the District.

For the first time in Tomball ISD history, both Tomball High School and Tomball Memorial High School produced individual UIL Track & Field State Champions in the same year.

Naomi “Peach” Booker of Tomball High School claimed the UIL 6A Girls 100-Meter Hurdles State Championship with a winning time of 13.32 seconds, earning back-to-back state titles in the event and further solidifying her place among the state’s elite track athletes.

Booker’s repeat championship performance highlights years of dedication, hard work and consistency on Texas’ biggest stage.

“Tomball ISD is incredibly proud of Peach and the legacy she continues to build,” said Tomball ISD Athletic Director Chris Scott. “To win back-to-back state championships at the UIL 6A level is an extraordinary accomplishment and a reflection of her commitment to excellence.”

On the boys side, Tomball Memorial High School’s Ben Haywood soared to a UIL 6A State Championship in Pole Vault, clearing an impressive 17 feet, 6 inches to secure the gold medal.

Haywood’s state title performance capped off an outstanding season and showcased his talent and determination competing against the best athletes in Texas.

“Ben’s performance at the state meet was exceptional,” Scott said. “Winning a state championship in pole vault at this level is an incredible achievement, and we are thrilled to celebrate his success.”

The accomplishments of Booker and Haywood continue Tomball ISD’s tradition of athletic excellence and reflect the dedication of the student-athletes, coaches, families and school communities supporting them throughout their journeys.
