TOMBALL - An incredible baseball season was capped off with the ultimate crown as the Tomball High School Cougars captured the 2024 UIL 6A Baseball State Championship, defeating Pearland 4-1 in Round Rock, Texas at Dell Diamond.

The Cougars, under the direction of head coach Doug Rush, finished the season with an impressive 41-3 record, ranking No.1 in the State and No. 2 nationally by MaxPreps.

Tomball High School went unbeaten in its final 30 games of the season, including a perfect 12-0 in playoffs. In the 14 innings played during the State Tournament, the Cougars allowed just one run and in the 12 playoff games, they allowed just 15 runs.

The 2024 title marked the second State Championship win in program history with the last title coming in 2013 as a 4A program.
