Willow Creek Elementary Destination Imagination Team Places 2nd at State

TOMBALL –  For their innovative and creative performance, the Willow Creek Elementary Extra Exciting Elements team earned a second place finish at the Destination Imagination Lone Star Finals State Tournament held at the University of Texas at Arlington, April 12-13.

Tomball ISD was well-represented at the State Finals as three elementary and two intermediate teams participated in this year’s event. WCES students are coached by Tammy LaFountain and Allison Scott.

Participating at the State Finals:

  • Fine Arts: Timber Creek Elementary | Super Seven
  • 2nd place finish | Improv: Willow Creek Elementary | Extra Exciting Elements
  • Technical: Grand Oaks Elementary | Technical Tigers
  • Engineering: Tomball Intermediate | Spicy Frontiers
  • Technical: Oakcrest Intermediate | The Pinball Potatoes

Texas DI sponsors Destination Imagination® for students in Texas because we believe that Destination Imagination is the best program for teaching these important life skills. Destination Imagination (DI) is a non-profit, volunteer-led, cause-driven organization. Our purpose is to inspire and equip students to become the next generation of innovators and leaders. Annually, we offer seven new standards-based Challenges in STEM, Improv, Fine Arts, Service Learning, and Early Learning. Each Challenge is open-ended and enables student teams to learn and experience the creative process from imagination to innovation. 

Tomball ISD educates students to become responsible, productive citizens by providing innovative, individually rigorous, and personally valuable educational experiences. Founded in 1908, Tomball ISD now encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates over 22,000 students across 23 campuses.
