TISD Students Show Well at District Science Fair
TOMBALL — Tomball ISD students’ hard work was tested and evaluated at the annual District Science Fair. Campus winners had the opportunity to present their project to judges and compete against others across the district to be awarded the best science project in grades 3-5 division and grades 6-12 division.
Back in October, TISD tudents in grades 3-12 were invited to participate in their respective campus science fair on topics ranging from comparative to collection to engineering design. Students were encouraged to select a topic that interests them and that others may also find interesting.
In December, judging occurred at each campus and the top projects were invited to participate in the Tomball ISD District Science Fair.
Winners from the 3-5 division:
- 1st: Rowan Unser, Timber Creek Elementary, Can a Rock Float?
- 2nd: Caroline Walker, Creekview Elementary, “Reel” Science
- 3rd: Vihann Shah, Creekside Forest Elementary, Hydraulic Lift Model
Winners from the 6-12 division:
- 1st: John Lezama, Creekside Park Junior High, CNC Machine
- 2nd: Sana Kale, Creekside Park Junior High, PeriTrac: An App for PAD Patients
- 3rd: Priyadarsan Aravinthkumar, Shiv Patel, Ved Nekkalapudi, Grand Lakes Junior High, Beach Rover

The top three winners in the grades 6-12 division are eligible to apply to advance to the Science & Engineering Fair of Houston (SEFH) at the George R Brown Convention Center on February 26, 2022.
