TISD Students Advance to State UIL Academics Contest

TISD Students Advance to State UIL Academics Contest

TOMBALL - Tomball ISD students, representing Tomball High School, Tomball Memorial High School, and Tomball Star Academy took part in their respective UIL Academics Regional meets with several teams and students earning top honors and advancing to State.

Tomball Memorial High School finished third overall.

The Current Issues and Events team captured first place and will advance to State.

  • John Aday - 1st overall individual
  • Harrison Daum - 2nd overall individual
  • Luca Gasparini - 4th overall individual 
  • Jonathan Estill - 6th overall individual

Also, advancing to state for TMHS:

  • Zlata Zolotarenkno - 1st overall individual (Biology)
  • Vivian Nguyen - 3rd overall individual (Persuasive Speaking)
  • John Davenport - 3rd overall individual (Social Studies)

Already participated in State Debate for TMHS:

  • Ved Nekkalapudi and Joshua Chong

Advancing to State from Tomball High School: 

  • John Lezama (Computer Science)
  • Hazel Roberts (Prose)
  • Braedon Smith (Theatrical Design)

Already participated in State Debate for THS, and placing third overall:

  • Mario Canales III and Aayan Patanayak

Tomball Star Academy competed in the 3A Region 3 contest.

Advancing to State from TSA:

  • Sophia Suazo - 1st overall individual (Social Studies)

Tomball ISD educates students to become responsible, productive citizens by providing innovative, individually rigorous, and personally valuable educational experiences. Founded in 1908, Tomball ISD now encompasses 83 square miles in northwest Harris County and southwest Montgomery County, and is located approximately 30 miles from downtown Houston. The district currently educates over 23,000 across 24 campuses. West Intermediate will become Tomball ISD’s 25th campus.
