TISD Robotics Wraps Up Impressive 2024-25 Season; TMHS Wins Award at Worlds
TOMBALL — Tomball ISD Robotics teams, representing Tomball Memorial High School, Tomball Star Academy and Tomball High School, wrapped up an incredibly successful competition season.
In early April, all three high schools participated in the Texas State FIRST Championship at George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Leading the way was Tomball Memorial High School VECTOR Team who was chosen to be part of the 1st Alliance. TMHS went on to win every match on the Mercury Field, placing VECTOR 22nd in the State - and a qualification to the World Championship.
Tomball High School’s T3 Team and Tomball Star Academy’s Allstars also showed well at State, finishing ranked 70th and 74th respectively.
TMHS’ VECTOR 8177 is fresh off a showing at its third World Championship. The team ranked 46th out of 75 teams after qualification rounds.
Following an immense amount of collaboration, data collection, mechanics, programming, and outreach over the four-day event, TMHS collected its first ever team award at Worlds on the Hopper Field, earning the Gracious Professionalism Award, which celebrates outstanding demonstration of FIRST Core Values such as continuous Gracious Professionalism, working together both on and off the field of play. The winning team exemplifies the principles of FIRST: fairness, humility, positivity, and respect.
