Willow Wood Junior High Implements Activity Focused on Student Connection
Willow Wood Junior High, led by Principal Kevin Williams, has made an intentional effort this school year to implement a campus-wide activity for students that focuses on connection, called ‘Links & Chains’.
This activity begins when students notice the ‘Links’ on ID badges and ask about them. When the students inquire about the ‘Links’, teachers complete a form and Mr. Williams schedules one-on-one meetings with the students to connect, set goals and have a conversation about their importance, not only at school but in the community.
So far this school year, Mr. Williams has met with around 50 students and continues to connect with more and more each day.
Implementing this activity on the WWJHS campus has allowed students to really connect and learn that they have a support system around them. Students also are able to have a voice within their school as well as understand their ‘link’ in making WWJHS a great campus and a supportive community.
