Tomball ISD Encourages Youngest Learners to Grow and Thrive through Collaboration
In Tomball ISD, all students will grow and thrive, and for the District’s youngest learners, an intentional effort has been made to create an environment that will best prepare its students based on their individual needs and abilities.
The Pre-Kindergarten (PK) Collaborative classroom is an inclusive setting enabling general education and special education students to access the same curriculum and lesson delivery, together.
The classroom teacher holds both a general education teaching certificate, as well as a special education teaching certificate. With the support of two para professionals, the PK collaborative team has the goal of ensuring that the curriculum and the classroom environment is adapted to meet the needs of all learners.
Tomball ISD currently has five elementary schools that feature a PK Collaborative classroom: Tomball Elementary, Rosehill Elementary, Grand Oaks Elementary, Decker Prairie Elementary and Canyon Pointe Elementary.
