Dear Early Excellence Families,
In August 2019, Early Excellence Academy opened its doors to children of Tomball ISD employees and became the home of our youngest students in Tomball ISD. The district aimed to provide families with young children the opportunity to build a solid start to their educational career through a literary-focused environment while providing high quality instruction through social emotional learning, cognitive, language and communication development aligned with the rigorous educational expectations across our district. Over the past three years, we have been pleased to celebrate our students’ successes in EEA and proud that these students leave EEA with a holistic skill set to be successful in their next grade level progression.
The last few years have proven to be very difficult as we continue to recover from effects of a global pandemic, historic weather events, and many other challenges. As a result of some of these events, we are seeing a rise in everyday costs that impact our daily lives and industry. Our school district is feeling the same impact as we work to navigate inflation rates that affect our daily operational costs. This rapid rise in everyday operational costs forces the district to make difficult budgetary decisions at times like this to ensure the long-term success of Tomball ISD.
The District has made the difficult decision to “sunset” Early Excellence Academy. The final date of operation for Early Excellence will be May 30, 2023.
We will continue to honor enrollment for our three-year-old classes that meet eligibility requirements and that attended Early Excellence Academy during the 2021-2022 school year. Families will provide updated registration information and students will attend Early Excellence Academy for the 2022-2023 school year.
Students who are five years of age and meet kindergarten eligibility requirements will not be able to attend the Early Excellence Academy for the 2022-2023 school year. We will not be accepting any new or additional students for the 2022-2023 school year. Those families that pursued early enrollment and/or were on the waitlist for the 2022-2023 school year will not be considered for enrollment at EEA in the 2022-2023 school year.
We want to thank you all for entrusting EEA with your children and for choosing Tomball ISD. We know that this news may come with questions, so please feel free to contact Mrs. Megan Parker, Director of EEA, with any clarifying questions you may have moving forward.
Megan Parker
Director of EEA
