Paraprofessional job openings (instructional aides and other support staff) are posted on the district website throughout the calendar year as vacancies arise. Classroom paraprofessionals must show evidence via an official transcript of a minimum of 48 college credit hours. Principals, department heads and other hiring personnel across the district will view applications, search for applicants with qualifications that fit their current vacancies, contact selected applicants directly for interviews, and make recommendations for employment. Once recommended for employment, applicants are notified by the Human Resources Department to schedule a final interview and complete required paperwork. New hires will receive instructions to be fingerprinted for a national background check and to apply and pay for a Paraprofessional Certificate issued by the Texas Education Agency's State Board for Educator Certification.
In order to make the interviewing/hiring process as streamlined as possible, the district asks applicants not to contact principals or hiring managers directly by telephone or just "stop by".
