Fine Arts instruction is available to all of our students. Special instruction and private lessons in band and choir are available to students in grades 6-12. The work of our students is dislayed in several venues such as music performances, theatre productions, and arts shows. All of our fine arts departments participate in contests where our students consistently win awards in both individual and group competition.
In the spring of each year the annual Fine Arts Festival, a district-wide recognition of the arts, is held to provide students and employees the opportunity to display their talents in the visual and performing arts.
Tomball ISD has a visionary technology plan that provides integration of technology in all areas of the curriculum. All schools are equipped with fully automated library systems, CD/DVD ROM technology, telecommunications capabilities, web-based learning opportunities, and video technology. TISD continues to provide and update technology tools for teachers to enhance the way students learn and teachers instruct.
The elementary schools are equipped with computer labs and software to enable and expand their learning and technology skills. All schools participate in telecommunications networks where students can share and obtain research throughout the world. Secondary schools have equipment for CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing) along with computer labs, digital video production stations, and media centers. The high school and junior high have access to voice, video, and data networks.
All classrooms in the district have access to CD ROMS, library systems, a variety of networked educational software, and the Internet (with parent permission.) Tomball ISD and each campus have web pages to enable parents and community members to keep informed about their schools and the district. All standard classrooms are equipped with ceiling mounted projectors and speakers.
The technology plan of Tomball ISD continues to focus on enhanced student learning. The goal is to enable all students to compete in an ever-changing society that relies heavily on the use of technology.
The Tomball ISD elementary summer school program is designed to provide academic acceleration for students who need additional time to master the language arts or math curriculum for their current grade level. The secondary program provides opportunities for students to repeat a course that was not passed or to take limited courses for original credit.
